The Story is Still Being Written

“Are you still a little sh*t?”

“I thought you’d be in jail by now.”

“You know what you turned out okay.”

All three of these statements were said to me in a span of 12 hours recently.

This made clear to me that I have made some mistakes, and that I have changed/transformed tremendously.

Who hasn’t changed in the past 10 years?  Are you the same person you when you were 15, 25 or 35 years old? For most people the answer is no – how can we be the same person after experiencing life?

Please repeat after me, IT IS OKAY TO CHANGE.

If you do not like the person who you are, then start today to become the person you want to be.

When is the best time to plant a tree? 20 years ago.

What is the second best time to plant a tree? Today.

You can’t change the past, but you can take charge of your present.

How do you start with the change?

  1. Write down 1 thing about you that you want to change, i.e. More reading, less drinking, more sleep, better eating habits, etc.
  2. Write down 1 habit to make that change – read 1 more book this year, drink 1 less drink this year, take 1 less donut. The idea is to make them small and achievable.
  3. Write down the person you want to be 1 year from now, 1 month from now, 1 day from now.

In conclusion, those three statements said to me above happened in sequential order and it’s proof that you can change people’s perspective about you in just a 12 hour span, imagine what you can do with 24hrs or a whole year.

Remember, your story is still being written and you have the power to make the ending you want – it just takes time, effort and gratitude.
