Tips to prevent getting sick.

Every year, around this time we start to feel run down less energetic. Some get body aches, sneezing and sniffles. All are tell tale signs that your body is fighting off some sort of disease.

So how can we help prevent our body from getting sick?  Here are some tips that we like to follow.

Get you ACE in the hole meaning, eat foods that are high in Vitamins A,C and E.

  • Vitamin A – Blueberries, Cod Liver oil, Eggs( the whole egg) and Broccoli/spinach
  • Vitamin C – Red Pepper, Brocoli, Brussel Sprouts and Kale
  • Vitamin E – Avocado, Broccoli, Almonds and Spinach

If you are an observant reader, you may have noticed that broccoli is our superstar food. That is because broccoli is an effective immunity booster! In addition to broccoli, you can also have bok ahoy, kale, cabbage and Brussel sprouts.  I personally like to roast my brussel sprouts with garlic and salt, it makes a wonderful side dish.

Additionally, try to carve out some time in an infrared sauna (hint hint: we have one at the office!). Sitting in it for 30 minutes 2x’s a week hepls your body flush stagnant inflammation that we are prone to this time of the year.

Finally, make sure to exercises and get enough sleep.  Sleep is where the body heals. If we aren’t allowing time for sleep our body will never recover from the stress, germs or other negative factors we encounter during the day.

These are tips that we use to help our immune system and it gives you an excuse to have some relaxing “me time” in the sauna.
